About Me

When you work with me for mindset therapy, you are choosing a counselor who brings both academic rigor and hands-on expertise to every session. With a Master’s degree focused on community mental health and school counseling from Roosevelt University, I’m not just informed by theory—I’ve applied it across multiple settings and demographics, including the LGBTQIA and BIPOC communities, caregivers, and clients dealing with grief. Here’s what makes me uniquely qualified:

  1. Experience Across Diverse Client Needs: As the owner of Oak and Reed Counseling, I’ve built a practice centered on inclusivity, offering support to a wide range of clients through virtual therapy. I understand the complexities of diverse backgrounds, allowing me to provide empathetic, individualized care in ways many practitioners can’t(Nov 2023 Lucretia Jacks…).
  2. Evidence-Based, Flexible Approaches: I’m trained in and regularly utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and creative therapies, which means I can offer a well-rounded therapeutic experience tailored to the unique needs of each client. This balance of creative and evidence-based practices ensures depth and adaptability in each session(Nov 2023 Lucretia Jacks…).
  3. Commitment to Lifelong Learning: With certifications in advanced grief counseling, therapeutic art coaching, and military cultural competence, along with conference experience across specialized topics, I continually expand my skillset to address emerging mental health issues, offering the latest techniques and insights(Nov 2023 Lucretia Jacks…).

By combining theoretical knowledge with practical application, I create a space where mindset transformation is not just discussed, but actively practiced, empowering clients to make real, lasting changes in their lives.
